Derek's workstation - November 2002
The Ikea Jerker desk with:
- [top shelves, left to right] scanner, SCSI CD-R drive with speaker and Boba Fett, Ethernet hub in front of USB hub #1 (not shown), inkjet printer and stand, speaker, flash card reader, Palm cradle, headphones, CD racks, and pen cup.
- [middle shelves and surface, left to right] CDs, phone, drink mat, and tools (on shelf), Power Mac G3 with ADB keyboard, Wacom tablet, and tablet pen, 16" Pivot monitor and Apple Pro USB Keyboard, USB hub #2, 14" monitor, trackball and mouse (behind chair back), 13" monitor (on shelf).
- [lower shelves and floor] briefcase, trash can, cassette deck for audio input (on shelf), chair, and archive CD-Rs (on shelf).
I took advantage of a wise piece of advice from Adam Engst of TidBITS -- the desk is well away from the wall, so that there's enough room to walk behind it in case I need to fiddle with the miscellaneous wires and connections.
