Derek's new workstation - October 2002
The Ikea Jerker desk with:
- [top shelves] scanner (top shelf), SCSI CD-R drive, Ethernet hub in front of USB hub #1 (not shown), inkjet printer and stand, flash card reader, Palm cradle, Boba Fett, tablet pen, CD racks and pen cup.
- [middle shelves and surface] 14" monitor on pivot shelf, Power Mac and left speaker, 17" monitor and keyboards (two -- don't ask), USB hub #2, 16" monitor, trackball, mouse, right speaker and drink holder, business cards and graphics tablet.
- [lower shelves and floor] cassette deck for audio input, trash can, chair, and phone.
I took advantage of a wise piece of advice from Adam Engst of TidBITS -- the desk is well away from the wall, so that there's enough room to walk behind it in case I need to fiddle with the miscellaneous wires and connections.
