My favourite new word

The latest issue of National Geographic is, as usual, excellent, but my favourite bit of it is a new word. In Spanish, the word chatarra means "scrap," but it's also slang in Mexico for "junk food."

I think it could be a great word in English too: "Oh, those pork rinds are total chatarra."

Chattera might also be useful in the corporate scene as well. For example, "Their environmental proposal is chattera".

Hold on! Sometimes Pork rinds are essential eating! Plus: 90% air...yummy too? = Pork Rinds FTW!

I've never been a fan of pork rinds, but even if you love them, I think you can freely admit that they're junk food/chatarra of the highest order.
